H&J Charge Account

The H&J Charge Account is an ideal way to manage purchases and payments for transactions of all sizes. Accounts limits can be tailored to meet your needs and your H & J Charge card makes purchasing as simple as presenting your card at time of purchase. A minimum payment of 5% of the month end balance is required and interest is charged on unpaid balances.

College Plan

College Plan is a unique finance option available when purchasing uniforms, shoes, bags, and books for back to school and during the year. Up to 10 months interest free credit is available and no deposit is required. There are no establishment or account fees payable provided repayments are made on time. Minimum contract value is $300.00 and credit criteria apply.

This is a great way to manage uniform purchases, especially during the busy January holiday period and following on so close to Christmas and customers find it convenient to be able to include school shoes, backpacks, and books in the plan.

College Plan is a Credit Contract and customers without previous credit history with H & J Smith will be required to provide a certain level of information. Enquire at your nearest store.

Credit Contracts

Credit Contracts (formerly known as Hire Purchase) are provided in association with Finance Now Limited (a subsidiary of SBS). A range of options and terms are available depending on what promotions are running at the time and the amount of the purchase. Terms of up to 36 months are available and can be combined with promotional offers to create a custom repayment plan for your needs.

An establishment fee of $30.00 applies and a monthly account fee of $2.50.

Establishing a credit contract does require you to provide a certain amount of information and for customers planning to take up a Credit Contract with us for the first time, you should bring with you several forms of id and be prepared to provide some financial information.

Lay-by

Lay-by is available on most purchases. The goods you would like to purchase are held in store while you make regular payments. A deposit is required and payments should be completed within three months. When the last payment is made you are able to uplift the goods and take them home.
