Remarkables Park Store Closure - effective 28 October 2023

Our Remarkables Park store will now close on Saturday October 28.

Invercargill’s final day is Saturday November 18.

Prostheses Fittings Venture Forth - effective October 2023

We are so pleased to announce that Becky, our prostheses, and mastectomy bra fitting specialist will now join The Cancer Society of Otago & Southland, right here in Invercargill!

H&J Smith are delighted to donate our extensive range of breast care products to an amazing organisation that serves and supports the Southland and Otago community.

Whether you have had breast conserving surgery or a mastectomy, Becky can advise you on the many product choices available.

Apt Collections Ventures Forth - effective 12 October 2023

We are pleased to announce that our major long-term supplier Longbeach Holdings Ltd will open a new ladies fashion store in the Invercargill Central Mall late next week! (12 October 2023.)

An accomplished manufacturer, Longbeach Holdings design and wholesale a wide range of quality apparel and operate a number of their own retail stores including our former Gore Connect, now trading as Apt Collections.

Apt Collections will stock many of the brands you know and love with our very experienced Apparel Sales Manager, Kathy Pasco heading the team.

The H&J’s Charge Card and redemption of H&J Smith Gift Cards will not be available at the Apt Collections store.

Paper Plus Ventures Forth - effective October 2023

We are pleased to announce that with immediate effect, Paper Plus Invercargill now ventures forth under new ownership.

Curtain Call Ventures Forth - effective August 2023

We are pleased to announce our Curtain Call Consultant Scarlett Polley has taken over our Curtain Call business and is trading as Scarlet Rose Interiors.

Gore Fashion Ventures Forth with Longbeach Holdings Ltd - effective late August 2023

We are pleased to announce that major long-term supplier Longbeach Holdings Ltd of Christchurch, will takeover the H&J Smith Gore store at the end of August.

Longbeach Holdings, an accomplished manufacturer who design and wholesale a wide range of quality apparel also operate a number of their own retail stores trading as Apt collections. The new store will stock many of the fashion labels the store is currently known for but will also introduce other labels that Longbeach produce, such as Swanndri and Line 7 clothing.

School Uniforms Venture Forth with Uniform Group - effective early September 2023

We are pleased to announce the transfer of the H&J Smith school uniform business to Uniform Group, one of our key suppliers.

Uniform Group will open their new ‘The U Shop’ specialist school uniform store at 162 Dee Street, Invercargill. (The former Stewarts Pharmacy.) The new store is scheduled to open early September 2023, and will stock school uniforms, hosiery, and school footwear, including the very popular McKinlay’s school shoes.

As part of our planning to exit the business, we will no longer offer the following services:

• Online sales.
• Holds / asides.
• Customer orders.
• Transfers of products from our other stores.
